Representative Matters

  • Successfully defended a prominent business owner against a breach of fiduciary duty claim alleging the company’s public offering after a settlement violated the rules of disclosure.
  • Negotiated dissolution of a marriage with multi-million dollar assets, including valuation and division of the real property and a complex settlement agreement for buyout of spousal support and valuation, and division of a business.
  • Obtained emergency custody and visitation orders that awarded custody of children to a client against a drug and alcohol-addicted parent, which led to the successful treatment of the addicted parent.
  • Successfully tried a breach of fiduciary duty case whereby the client had been defrauded of significant stock options by the former spouse.
  • Represented and advised a client with drug and alcohol dependency, developing a customized package of services that guided the client through an emergency screening and custody assessment, resulting in joint custody and an equal timeshare schedule.
  • Located a separate, undisclosed property claim that was more than a decade old and valued at approximately $77,000 on behalf of a stay-at-home mother.

Professional and Community Contributions

Cathy is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. She previously has volunteered at the East San Jose Community Law Center, assisting in employment, workers’ compensation, and immigration matters.
